April’s feature car in the Official MH 2026 Calendar is a proper labour of love — Joe’s more-door Mk2 Escort.
This isn’t a quick build. This is seven years of graft, persistence, and passion, brought to life with the help of good mates and countless hours in the garage. The result? A seriously sorted Mk2 that represents everything we love about classic Ford ownership — building it your way, no shortcuts.
Originally left-hand drive, Joe went all-in and converted the car to right-hand drive, completely transforming the driving experience and making it feel right at home on UK roads. The bodyshell was taken right back to bare metal before receiving a full respray, giving the car a fresh, clean finish that does the build justice.
Under the bonnet sits a proper Escort favourite — a 2.0 Pinto engine, delivering that raw, mechanical feel that only a classic setup can offer. It’s paired to a 4-speed RS2000 gearbox, keeping things period-correct while still being built to handle spirited driving.
Out back, the car is fitted with a Quaife ATB differential, meaning all that power actually gets put down properly — whether it’s a fast road blast or getting a bit sideways when the mood takes over.
This is what the Calendar Car Collections are all about — real cars, built by real people, with real stories behind them.
