It's a 1971 and was originally had an 1100 Crossflow engine in the bay. This has now been replaced with a 2.0 Pinto lump which is stock apart from a 1mm head skim to raise compression, and an electronic ignition system.
I'm loving the chunky tyres with the lettering on the side and just check out the rear window louvre!! 😃
The car has a 2" Simon's exhaust system fitted and the future plans incude a set of twin 44 IDF Weber carburettors and a type 9 gearbox.
This Mk1 is still running the original 1100 gearbox and axle which gives the the car mega acceleration at the sacrifice of top end speed. Mathias plans to run 1100 gearing in the rear axle even when the type 9 is fitted.
