Glenn Duncan, from Ireland has been in touch to show us this beautiful 1977 Mk2 Escort 1300 LX! 😃

This car was actually on the way to the crushers in 1999 due to the scrappage scheme that was in place at the time. Luckily Glenn’s father Noel bought it and saved it, but it then sat in the Duncan family garage until 2010 when Glenn took the project on. Originally the plans were to build it into a monster with a bigger engine etc, but as time went on Glenn started appreciating the car for what it was. It was treated to a light restoration including a full respray and it is now enjoyed as a sensibly modified, but un-molestered example.
The paintwork looks amazing and the car is sitting nicely on a set of Lotus steel wheels.
The interior looks beautiful with the tan coloured seats and door cards, and the wooden steering wheel is a really nice touch.
The engine bay is immaculate and the 1300 crossflow lump has been treated to a lovely alloy rocker cover, and a set of black Samco coolant hoses.
This restoration has been very much a family affair, with Glenn's Father Noel, and his 2 brothers Leigh and Aaron being instrumental to the build. Check out their Instagram (@duncanbros_1978) for more car pics etc.
Thanks for your email Duncan! 👍
