ANTHONY's ST170 SIERRA & LEWIS' ST170 CAPRI! 😃

ANTHONY's ST170 SIERRA & LEWIS' ST170 CAPRI! 😃

Anthony Wood has sent in these pics of 2 super cool old skool Fords, now both fitted with ST170 engines! 😃
Both of the engine conversions were carried out by Anthony during the lockdown and as you can see they both look like very tidy installs.
The Sierra is a 1991 'Chassuer' model and belongs to Anthony himself. It originally had an 1800 CVH lump in the bay, but unfortunately that engine was shot hence the ST170 conversion. The engine is running on a set of R1 motorbike carburettors, mounted to a Danst Performance Engineering LTD inlet manifold, and the spark is controlled by an ME100 ECU from Motorsport Electronics Limited. Tuning was also taken care of by DanST.
Other modifications include: a hydraulic clutch conversion, an Ashley exhaust system, power steering conversion, 40mm lowered suspension, and a rear disk brake conversion. Anthony is planning to convert the Sierra to a fuel injection setup very soon. He already has a set of ZX12 motorbike throttle bodies on a DanST inlet manifold ready to fit, and he has taken advantage of the 'future proof' nature of the ME100, by having the fuelling control unlocked by Motorsport Electronics (turning it into an ME221)
Next up we have a 1986 Mk3 Capri that belongs to Anthony's mate Lewis! 😃
The ST170 lump looks right at home in the engine bay and has been fitted with a set of R1 motorbike carburettors. This car has also been fitted with a hydraulic clutch and has a Sportex exhaust system. Other modifications include: Spax shock absorbers, and princess 4 pot brake calipers. The brake servo has been deleted to make space for the carbs.
What an EPIC pair of old skool Fords both now fitted with a more modern powerplant. HUUUGE thanks to Anthony and Lewis for sharing, and I hope to bump into you both at a future show! 👍
