Anthony Perkins has been in touch to show us all his super cool Mk3 Escort project! 😃

The car has real significant sentimental value as it used to belong to his late Father Stephen. I'll let Anthony tell us about the car in his own words:
"Here is my Ford Escort mk3 1.8 zetec. This car was owned by my dad from around 1998 to 2015 and in that time was used as a daily and took us on many family holidays. I finally managed to get my hand on it in 2015, after it sat in his back garden being used as a storage shed for 9 years. I always wanted this car growing up so I went on my mission to make her road worthy, with only basic tools welder and my drive way.
I got her back on the road in 2016 and used her for about 3 years, then I started noticing dreaded rust!
In 2019 I set the task of getting her welded up and rot free again. After a few months, and many new panels she was done.
I then realise the engine was letting the car down as it was a very tired 1.6 CVH. I was always having starting and running issues so when lock down came I decided it was time for a heart transplant.
I went with a 1.8 blacktop zetec on injection changed the whole fuel system to suit.
Unfortunately my dad fell very ill in 2020 and sadly passed away, and I never got to show him the car all welded up and with her new engine.
I am so glad I took this car on now as it's a huge memory box of all the good times I spent at weekends working with my dad.
She now awaits body work and paint hopefully at some point this year.
I could talk all day about this car so please if you have any questions please ask."
I'm so sorry for your loss Anthony and I really appreciate you sharing your story with us all. This is such a cool car and will live on as a great tribute to your Dad. I cant wait to see it all painted, feel free to keep us all posted with progress mate! 👍
