Chris Kember @ Clumpfab has now completed the welding on 'Maude' my more-door Mk2 Escort.
As you can see there was a patch of rust in the rear quarter panel that needed sorting and I was worried about how far it had spread internally. Luckily, when Chris cut the rust out it wasn't too bad behind the panel. There was some surface rust on a support piece inside which Chris kindly ground back and he has now coated it with primer to prevent future rust.
The patch he has welded on the quarter panel itself has been butt welded in and the repair will be invisible once it has been re-painted.
Words cant express how happy I am with the results of this welding job and I can't wait to pick Maude up in a few days! I do have more welding planned for in the future (including a larger gearbox tunnel) and I will 100% be asking Chris @ Clumpfab to carry that job out too.
