MAUDE @ CLUMPFAB UPDATE! 😃
Yesterday the very talented Chris Kember @ @Clumpfab spent a full day on 'Maude' my more-door Mk2 Escort and unfortunately the rust in the rear arch is WAY worse than we expected! 🙁
Hiding behind the shredded tyre stuck to the inner wing was A HOLE! Which means Chris had to cut out a HUUGE piece of the inner tub. I didn't supply Chris with a tub repair panel but luckily he's a proper fabricator and was able to make the required sections from scratch and get them welded in. There is one other section in the rear tub that Chris will be fabricating himself too next week. Being the perfectionist he is, he would have much preferred to replace the whole tub but agreed that because Maude isn't a show car, and to save waiting for a repair panel to be delivered, a replacement section would surfice.😃
Even with such a maaasive set back he was still able to get the outer arch welded in and Maude's rear arch looks like a rear arch again!

I'll be picking 'Maude' up next weekend and Chris will be cracking on with the rest of her welding between other jobs during week, and hopefully he will have time to keep us all updated with progress.
