My busy life means I rarely get the chance to sit down and watch other peopleās YouTube videos properly, but this morning I watched James Deaneās latest episodeā¦ and I nearly shed a tear! š¢
James Deane is widely regarded as one of the greatest drift drivers of all time, with multiple Formula Drift, Drift Masters, Drift Allstars, Oman IDC, National and European titles to his name.
But as impressive as all that is, this video shows something even better.
In the episode, James makes young Kyleās dream come true by meeting him at Japfest and taking him for a passenger ride in his 4-rotor Mazda RX-7 around Mondello Park.
Kyle struggled a little with the motion of the car, and James handled it absolutely beautifully. No awkwardness, no pressure ā he simply shut the car off, had a proper chat with Kyle in the cockpit, reassured him, and then let him enjoy the experience at his own pace.
They cruised past the crowd, Kyle soaked it all in, and James gently judged exactly what he could handle before doing a few smooth, low-speed drifts.
Moments like that show what kind of bloke James really is.
Being one of the best drifters in the world must be amazing, but making a young ladās dream come true is worth more than any trophy, any car collection, or any amount of money.
