I recently had a first look inside the 1300 crossflow engine that will soon be fitted to 'Heidi' my hearing aid beige Mk2 Escort, whilst I was replacing the core plugs aaaaand the water jacket was full of rust coloured crud!! 🙁
I did my best to scrape and hoover out the crap before fitting the new core plugs, but the lump will still be getting a good rad flush when it is up and running.
I also tried to test 'Heidi's' heater matrix for leaks by plumbing it into the coolant system of my other Mk2 Escort 'Maude', before then fitting in to the car.
In other news, 'Heidi's flywheel and clutch cover have been saved with a skim, and her rocker cover is looking awesome after the rattle can paint job i gave it before.
