It seems I was very naive to think I could just chuck some paint and a few gaskets at 'Heidi's' 1300 crossflow lump and throw it in the bay! 🙁
The valve stem seals have disintegrated so it was off with her head, which will be rebuilt by an absolute moron (that's me! 🤪) but luckily under the guidance of a proper engineer called Jonathan (to come in a future video)
In yesterday's video, I also swapped out the rear main seal and now I'll defo have to redo the sump gasket!
Whilst the lump is apart I'll be making a better job of cleaning up some of the exterior parts BUT I'm still determined to NOT give the bottom end a full rebuild.
I'll just keep telling myself that its a crossflow, they run forever, it will be fine! 😃
