GARY's 100E IS ALIVE!! 😃 **thanks for your advice! **👍

In my latest video we FINALLY got Gary’s Zetec turbo powered 100E fired up for the first time since he fitted the blacktop cylinder head to his ST170 bottom end! 👍
I now realise (thanks to some advice from you guys) that I made a mistake in the video. I wrongly assumed that the fuel pump wiring had been hooked up to an electrical oil pressure switch, which is an old skool way of ensuring the fuel pump cuts out if you have an accident or lose oil pressure due to engine failure.
Gary’s 100E is controlled by an ME221 ECU from my friends at @Motorsport Electronics and his fuel pump is powered by one of the many auxiliary outputs built into the ME221. What I now realise is that the ME221 will power the fuel pump for a few seconds and then cut out until the ECU receives an RPM signal (when the engine is being turned over by the starter motor) and this is exactly what we found when testing the power supply to the pump.
Ultimately, the main thing is that we eventually figured out that Gary had bought a faulty pump and with a new pump from Rob, the 100E fired into life! 😃
Since the video Gary has found the source of his air leak and Im sure the car will be running (squeak free) again very soon!
For all those that have asked, I will defo be getting both Gary and Rob’s Zetec Turbo 100Es back on the channel in the near future! 👍
