As you'll know if you saw my last video, A L Developments have supplied a ported cylinder head for 'Esther' my ST170 powered Mk1 Escort.
Heres a few pics from their facebook page of the head going through the process.
The inlet and exhaust ports have been opened up and the valve throats have been reshaped. The valves were also removed and cleaned up, and then re-lapped back in with 2 angles on the valve seats.
The combustion chamber areas have been polished to prevent carbon build up.
All this work will mean more air/fuel can get into the engine quicker and it will allow the exhaust gases to escape quicker, meaning MORE POWER! 😃
